Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping Choir praying for and celebrating the Leaning Elm in the Central Plaza of Tompkins Square Park, the tree that went its own way.
Preaching and Documenting prophets are a benefit to all–thanks to Billy and Choir and to Tompkins Trees for creating a record of this tribute. I was bawling and bowing with gratitude for the sermon and in painful loss, in communion with Tree…That she had not yet known her demise, the song and prayer and embracings that graced her were soft message, so she may bear with when the time comes.
Thanks, Michael, for capturing the Rev, the Choir, Her.
Rev. B was spot-on about it all.
Blessed be all Trees who choose their path and role, to shade and cool and cleanse our breaths, who make of themselves something new and unique and generous; blessed are all we trees, who choose and and who stand, on our own and for all at once.
